The Turkman (Turkmen) tribes live in the north and north-east of Iran. Their rugs are very distinctive due to their dark red colours and repeated blue/ black/ ivory 'gul' print motifs. The wool is soft and durable. Turkmen produce the finest of all tribal rugs.
These rugs are extremely difficult to find in large sizes, due to their tribal nature.
